Job Details
Duties
Duties will include learning the skills and methods needed to complete your apprenticeship, working for this company that offering a comprehensive range of electrical services to residential and commercial clients throughout South Wales. Involvement with high voltage systems, power system design, maintenance and installation, cable jointing and eventual inspection and testing. You will have a responsibility to adhere to and uphold health & safety obligations at all times, being aware of potential risks and acting in a sensible manner. Whilst in full-time employment you will undertake the following qualifications:
NVQ Diploma in Engineering Maintenance and Installation
VRQ Diploma in Electrical Installation
Essential Skills in Application of Number, Communication and Digital Literacy
Additional information
Before applying for this position please ensure you are able to travel to and from the place of employment in Tonypandy and to the XR Training Centre in Pyle once a week. You will be employed full-time as an apprentice by this company based in Tonypandy. You will be enrolled onto a level 2 foundation apprenticeship in electrical engineering.

Previous experience either as study or a hobby desirable but not essential.

Must be prepared to travel to the XR Training Centre in Pyle once a week for mandatory off-the-job training.
Have a real passion for the trade.
Qualifications

Who can apply?

- will need to meet the Civil Service Nationality requirements to apply.
ALS eligibility
Please note that ALS our training providers have their own eligibility in order to provide the funding required to undertake an apprenticeship. You may not be eligible to apply if:
- you already hold a qualification at Level 3 or above in ICT, Software, Web and Telecoms or a similar subject
- you already hold a qualification at Level 3 or above in Business Administration, Customer Service or a similar subject
What are the benefits?
How much will I be paid?
You will earn £19,240 a year while training. When you pass your apprenticeship you can apply for a permanent job at the Welsh Government. Within 2 years of starting your apprenticeship you could be earning £22,500.
You will get 31 days holidays as well as 10 public and privilege days. We offer flexible working arrangements to help you get the right work/life balance. You will also be eligible for membership of the Civil Service Pension Scheme
