Job summary

An exciting apprenticeship opportunity has arisen to work within a busy and varied environment, working alongside our clinical and other non-clinical colleagues to make a positive contribution to our patients and staff experience.

We are seeking to recruit an experienced, motivated, dynamic Apprentice Facilities Management Supervisor to work alongside our team within a community hospital environment. Our team takes pride in ensuring all areas of the hospital meet high standards of cleanliness in line with National Standards of Cleaning 2021

The Job Description lists the duties and responsibilities of the role, and the Person Specification lists the experience, qualifications, and knowledge to be developed during this apprenticeship position.

This post will be working across both community sites of Sir Robert Peel (Tamworth) and Samuel Johnson (Lichfield) Community Hospitals. This post will be to support all the facilities services to include Logistics, Cleaning and Patient Catering. Driving is essential as you will be based at Samuel Johnson in Lichfield and may be required to travel to Tamworth to support where required.

Main duties of the job

Working in line with National Cleanliness Standards and attaining skills and knowledge in all the services. Undertaking practical working training within all the services.

Some Supervisor experience is desirable, with further skills to be attained via the Level 3 Facilities Management Supervisor apprenticeship programme.

It is desirable you have previous experience of working in a hospital or care provision, though this is not essential.

You have a passion for good cleaning standards and hygiene.

You have some experience or awareness of infection control and health and safety procedures.

You are a team player but can also work independently.

You are confident to speak in front of a group of people.

The shift pattern will vary between the service hours to provide seven days service. Flexibility is required to support with cover as required with regards annual leave and absence.
