Your apprenticeship will start in the Application Support Service Desk, where you will gain  experience of providing high quality support and customer service to the Bytes customers and internal staff. 

You will be given the opportunity to work in different teams within the department to gain a wide understanding of what Bytes does and help you to decide where your strengths lay and help you gain the qualifications you need to succeed.

Training Provision, Location and Hours Information:

  • Necessary training on products and applications where required
  • Full induction program
  • Apprenticeship coursework and learning
  • Necessary training on products and applications where required
  • Based at Bytes Software Services head office in Leatherhead

You will be responsible for:

  • Providing first application support to customers 
  • Triaging of first line support tickets
  • Application User Access
  • Administering customer settings application tool sets
  • Maintenance Configuration Database within SharePoint
  • Performing daily checks to ensure systems are running successfully
  • Performing first support checks and requirements prior to second line escalation
  • Completing new customer onboarding tasks

You will need the following skills:

  • Maintaining good relationships and respect work colleagues
  • Maintaining good relationship with all clients
  • Excellent client communication
  • Ability to analyse and respond to situations
  • Ability to obtain cooperation of peers 
  • Good organisational skills
  • Following guidelines and procedures

Additionally, the following experience would be beneficial:

  • Keen interest and desire to progress in IT and software application support 
  • Experience of Microsoft operating systems and client applications 
  • Customer service experience

Entry requirements:

The entry requirements for this Azure Cloud Support Specialist programme are as follows:

  • 3 GCSEs (or equivalent) at grades 4+ (A-C) in any subject
  • GCSE Maths and English (or equivalents) at grades 3+ (D or above)
  • Prospective apprentices must not hold an existing qualification at the same or higher level as this apprenticeship is in a similar subject

You may also have a combination of qualifications and experience which demonstrate the minimum foundation needed for the programme. In this instance you could still be considered for the programme.

If you hold international equivalents of the above qualifications, at the time of your application you must be able to provide an official document that states how your international qualifications compare to the UK qualifications.

Future prospects:

92% of QA Apprentices secure full-time employment after finishing their apprenticeship. Additionally there may be opportunities to undertake further apprenticeship training as many of our programs offer on-going development tracks.
