Job summary

The opportunity has arisen for a 37.5 hour Band 3 Central Booking Officer, within the Oncology department at North Middlesex University Hospital NHS Trust.

Main duties of the job

Previous experience of office or reception duties is essential, preferably within the healthcare setting, and all candidates must meet the criteria laid out within the person specification included in the job description.

Key elements of the role will include processing Radiotherapy and Chemotherapy referrals, answering telephone queries from patients and providing a professional level of customer service, using patient administration systems to book patients, tracking patients through clinical pathways, processing End of Treatment letters & emails, and liaising with consultants, radiographers and nurses to help them manage their time & patients effectively.

This includes health visitors and school nurses who are delivering the national Healthy Child Programme, which provides a structured framework for the delivery of key interventions to support the health and wellbeing of children and families from 0 to 5 and school aged children from 5-19. The 0-19 service aims to improve pathways and partnerships with services in the hospital and deliver excellent care for the children and families.
