SALARY: £19,000 (pro rata) plus a £300 relocation payment to support with moving and hybrid working

Join us for a 10-week summer internship and you'll find yourself at the heart of our business, gaining insight and experience into the huge breadth of the work we do. Working on interesting projects with great people in areas as diverse as supply chain and strategy, innovation, commercial and contracts – building your business skills along the way.

At Rolls-Royce, we believe in the transforming potential of technology to protect our planet, secure our world, and explore our universe. And it’s our people who make us who we are. You’ll be welcomed into a friendly, inclusive culture that believes in plenty of opportunities and learning, no matter what level you’re at.

WHAT YOU’LL DO ON THE PROGRAMME

This is a fantastic opportunity to get a real insight into our business and contribute to solving challenges that impact various areas of our business, from strategy to innovation, customer management to procurement and more.

You’ll be placed in one of our business areas, Civil Aerospace, Defence, Electrical, Group IT, Group Business Services or Submarines. You could see for yourself how we negotiate contracts on a global level, or provide support to our commercial team in Derby, home to the world’s largest and smartest indoor aerospace testbed. Or you might be involved helping purchase the parts for a highly efficient jet engine, a building or IT system.

Thanks to a combination of digital learning and on-the-job training, you’ll build a wealth of new skills with the help of industry experts. People who are as invested in your success as you are.

This is your chance to gain a fantastic insight into a leading, global business. But it’s up to you to make the most of it. If you do well, you could be offered a place on our graduate programme.

WHAT YOU’LL NEED TO BE SUCCESSFUL

This programme is all about potential and we're open to degrees in any subject. What's most important to us is that you live and breathe our values (Trust, Integrity and Safety) and behaviours (Agile, Bold, Collaborative and Simple) and want to shape the future of our business

You’ll need to be open-minded, curious, collaborative, and agile – someone who enjoys problem solving, and who recognises the power of teamwork.

It’s also important that you’re flexible about where you work and are willing to travel between locations if required.

Application Closing Date: Wednesday 30th November 2022 at 23.59 (GMT)

Company

Rolls-Royce is a global company dedicated to delivering innovation in the air, on land and at sea. Our people are passionate about creating better products and services in the civil and defence aerospace, marine and nuclear markets. Together we’ve set land speed records, developed the world’s most efficient aero engine, designed industry leading eco-friendly ships and powered nuclear submarines.

Our world-class laboratories, state-of-the-art manufacturing facilities and fast-paced business teams are driven by engineering experts and experienced professionals. However, we don’t deliver best-in-class by relying solely on expertise. We recognise that we need to balance knowledge and rigour with fresh eyes, challenging ideas and novel ways of thinking. That’s why, every year, we hire hundreds of bright, ambitious and innovative interns, graduates, apprentices and school leavers.

We have graduate and intern opportunities in a broad array of Engineering, Operations and Business functions. We also provide a range of Modern or Advanced Apprenticeships, Higher Apprenticeships, Sponsored Degree and school leaver programmes that offer the chance to gain experience at work alongside qualifications at college or university.

Wherever you join – whether you’re engineering on the micron scale, launching new internal systems or scoping out commercial opportunities – we’ll expect you to pursue perfection. That means putting your drive and inventive streak to the test as you work on live projects while taking every chance to suggest improvements, share ideas and make a positive impact – on your team, on our products and on our global business.
