Accountant Apprenticeship

Babington, a leading provider of apprenticeships, professional training courses and learning solutions are supporting our client, Accountants and tax advisors offering a wide range of services to small and medium sized businesses to recruit for their next Accountant Apprentice, based in AYR.

As an apprentice, what will I be doing?

This is an exciting opportunity to start your career in accountancy. As an Accountant Apprentice your days will be varied and will include the following:

- Book-keeping
- Sales ledger and purchase ledger.
- Bank reconciliations.
- Ensuring all systems are up-to-date with correct client information.
- Ensuring that correct paperwork is received from clients in order to adhere to AML regulations.
- Completing forms and other documentation for the business and also for
clients.
- Ensuring all paperwork is filed away and secure.
- Any other duties as required.
What training will I undertake and what qualification will I get at the end?
SCQF Level 5 in accountancy supported with a 121 coach and e-learning platform.

Are there any requirements for me to be considered?

You’ll have a head start in this vacancy if you’ve completed a Foundation Apprenticeship in a related field. We’ll need you to provide evidence of your qualification and show you gained the relevant skills from your placement

We are looking for someone with the following qualities;

- Great communicator and likeable. Able to build relationships with
individuals from all backgrounds.
- Hard-working and great work-ethic. We need someone who is willing to
learn.
- Team-player.
- Honest and trustworthy.
- Pro-active.
- Organised.

No experience is necessary although we require the application to hold at least 4 National 5 certificates. Experience in excel and good overall IT skills would be an advantage.
