Duration of Apprenticeship:

36 months 

Job Description:

• Preparation of Financial Accounts and Corporate Tax Returns;

• VAT Returns;

• Management Accounts;

• Bookkeeping;

• Payroll;

• Company secretarial tasks

• Compiling working papers and Self Assessment Tax Returns;

• Compilation of Confirmation Statements;

• Regular email contact with clients regarding upcoming deadlines and various queries; and

• Assisting with various administrative duties such as engagement letters.

• In conjunction with principal/senior colleague: Taxation consultancy; and Financial valuations, plus consultancy to include advising on management & sale of businesses;

• The role is 100% office based to enable the provision of support and guidance.

Training Provided:

As an Accounting Apprentice with BPP, you will complete the Accountancy Taxation Professional Apprenticeship at Level 7. Within the apprenticeship you will undertake the ACCA, CIMA, ICAEW professional qualification. The apprenticeship will be completed at a BPP centre or via the Online Classroom platform, in addition to at the workplace. 

Qualification Requirements:

At least 3 A-levels (or equivalent) at grade C or above PLUS a degree in any subject or an existing Level 4 accountancy qualification

Alongside GCSE (or equivalent) in Maths and English at grades 4/C and above  

Personal Qualities & Skills:

• Good attention to detail, accuracy, problem-solving skills;

• Loyal, conscientious, responsible and hard working;

• Ability to build internal and external relationships;

• Ability to work autonomously or as part of a team.

• Strong Excel Skills;

• Experience with accounting software (IRIS, Sage, Xero, QuickBooks, FreeAgent etc)

• Very good written and oral communication skills in English;

• Finally, the candidate should have ambitions to complete the CTA qualification.
