Job Description:

 

Principle Accountabilities:

· Carry out all administrative tasks relating to the Group Income Protection Claims functions including, but not limited to claim file management, correspondence and liaison with third parties (clients, brokers, service providers and treating clinicians).

· Assist the claims team with chasing any outstanding medical or non-medical information to expedite the income protection claims process.

· Accurately maintain claims files.

· Assist the claims team with the timely review and follow-up of all in-payment income protection claims to verify continued entitlement to benefit, mitigating measures available and accurate claims reserving.

· Build effective working relationships with colleagues, brokers, clients, claims service providers etc.

· Adhere to internal procedures, claims philosophy, and operational authorities, as well as any applicable legislation/industry guidelines.

· Provide any other additional support to the Claims team and Early Intervention Co-Ordinator as and when required.

· An understanding of terminology used in assessment of income protection claims.

· Ability to develop and maintain positive relationships both internally and externally.

 

Type of Experience Required

· Ideally, experience working in a claims and/or group risk insurance environment.

· Competent with MS products, especially MS Excel.

· General office and administrative experience preferred. But the candidate with the right “can do” attitude with willingness to work hard, provide support, learn “on the job” and be willing to take opportunities as they arise will be important.

 

Training Provided:

 

As a Business Administration Apprentice with BPP, you will undertake the Business Administrator Level 3 Advanced Apprenticeship.

The apprenticeship will be delivered through a blend of live online learning, pre-recorded lectures and workplace support.

 Educated to GCSE Level

It also contrasts with those whose messages are not clear or lack credibility, as well as those who demonstrate poor listening skills and are unreceptive to feedback.
