Job Description:

**Salary from £12000-£15000 per annum based on experience***

The position is based in the SME Department at our Watford office.

The duties will include:

Assisting with the administration and support of the SME client base.

Performing a bookkeeping service for SME’s.

Complete Management Accounts and VAT Returns under the overall control of a Manager/Principal.

To carry out tax work as directed.

To work towards obtaining the qualification Association of Accounting Technicians (AAT) through college day release.

Training Provided:

As an Accountancy Apprentice with BPP, you will complete the Assistant Accountant Apprenticeship at Level 3. Within the apprenticeship you will undertake the full AAT Level 3 qualification.

The apprenticeship will be completed at a BPP centre or via the Online Classroom platform, in addition to at the workplace.

Qualification Requirements:

GCSE English Language and Mathematics at grade 5 or above. Ideally educated to BTEC or A level standard.

 Personal Qualities & Skills:

Taking pride in appearance,work produced and own behaviour in the workplace.

Ability to take ownership for study and learning on the job. Asking questions,demonstrating interest in the job and applying theory to practice.

Be approachable,sociable yet professional with others.

IT competent and be familiar with computerised packages. Reasonable level of verbal and written communication and should be numerate.

 Future Prospects:

If the AAT Level 3 is completed successfully and you are progressing well with your work, there may be the opportunity to further study for AAT level 4 and for your contract of employment to be extended.

Although not guaranteed, many of our Apprentices have become permanent members of staff building a strong career.
