Overview: 

This is a great opportunity to join the Group Technology Services Team within Royal London whilst completing an IT systems and networking - Azure Cloud Support Specialist - Level 3 Apprenticeship.

Main responsibilities: 

During your time as an apprentice, you will: 

  • Build knowledge of the areas where you will be working within our GTS division throughout your Apprenticeship 
  • Play a contributing role within your team(s) 
  • Be continually supported by your line manager and your buddy to help you deliver at your best 
  • Drive your own development, through formal learning and/or experience 
  • Have the opportunity to build core skills, such as presenting, influencing, stakeholder engagement & management etc. 
  • Build a strong peer network with fellow apprentices

General Key Accountabilities:

  • Expected to attend assigned learning/training throughout the duration of the apprenticeship and expected to participate in all on the job training
  • Expected to complete any given tasks to agreed time and quality requirements, from creation to closure, ensuring manager and/or colleagues are kept up to date at all times
  • Expected to gain a full understanding of Royal London business and the function which you are placed within
  • Expected to maintain a strong peer network with fellow apprentices across the business to learn, share knowledge, skills and techniques
  • Expected to provide pro-active assistance and support to all colleagues where required and support ad hoc projects in connection with your learning
  • Be committed to the values of the team
  • Understand company’s core values (e.g., collaboration, trustworthiness, collaboration, and achievement) and display them in all activities undertaken and interactions with people at all levels within and external to the business
  • Participate in team working and taking opportunities to take ownership of activities
  • Reflect the Spirit of Royal London values through demonstrating positive behaviours in relation to your goals and with all stakeholders 

You will take ownership of your own development by ensuring that you have a clear and defined development plan aligned with your apprenticeship that you continually review and work towards with the support of your line manager.

Able to drive and owns your own vehicle is a key requirement. 

Entry requirements:

The entry requirements for this Azure Cloud Support Specialist programme are as follows:

  • 3 GCSEs (or equivalent) at grades 4+ (A-C) in any subject
  • GCSE Maths and English (or equivalents) at grades 3+ (D or above)
  • Prospective apprentices must not hold an existing qualification at the same or higher level as this apprenticeship is in a similar subject

You may also have a combination of qualifications and experience which demonstrate the minimum foundation needed for the programme. In this instance you could still be considered for the programme.

If you hold international equivalents of the above qualifications, at the time of your application you must be able to provide an official document that states how your international qualifications compare to the UK qualifications.

Working week: 

8am and 6pm and shifts would typically be 8am to 4pm and occasional 9am to 5pm or 10am to 6pm to support the service area with a requirement for hybrid working of 50% minimum time in the office so 2 to 3 days.  

Future prospects: 

Upon successful completion of the apprenticeship, this could lead to a permanent employment with the opportunity to continuously develop.

To be eligible for a Government funded apprenticeship you must have lived in the UK or European Economic Area (EEA) for the last 3 consecutive years.
