Apprentice Associate Digital Portfolio Manager

These roles are working within a Portfolio and Delivery Assurance Job family, which sits within our DWP Digital Business Service Practice.

Our practice brings together the key business services which enable Digital Group as a whole, to focus on delivering critical IT services for DWP and its citizen customers.

These services are delivered through support teams, delivering professional services to DWP Directors & their Senior Leadership Teams to deliver against their business priorities.

As apprentices within Digital, you will have the opportunity develop yourself, whilst contributing towards achieving Digital’s success, being a key enabler and providing services which support the whole of Digital Group.

As an Associate Digital Portfolio Manager apprentice, you will support the tracking, analysis, and delivery of outcomes within a portfolio, assisting in unblocking issues whilst helping to ensure that proper controls and risk mitigation procedures are in place.

• You will support the compliance to standards, providing assurances that all service standards are understood and are being met.
• You’ll be an excellent communicator with strong organisational skills.
• You’ll need to manage a busy and rapidly changing schedule, thinking strategically about the needs, milestones and commitments of Digital delivery teams.
• You will support in the tracking of projects using defined methods for each programme, escalating issues and resource constraints as appropriate.
• You’ll provide analysis and updates to members of the leadership team regarding the progress and potential issues within your portfolio.
• You will help to maintain a view of key project factors, including outcomes, costs, risks, dependencies, and priorities across the portfolio, ensuring they are documented and presented appropriately.
• You will also support the development and embedding of Portfolio Standards across your delivery Portfolio.

You will have plenty of opportunities for further career and personal development and will dedicate 20% of their working week working towards their apprenticeship.

This is an excellent opportunity to gain a Level 4 Apprenticeship in Project Management.
