Qualifications
A Level or equivalent 3 A Levels including Maths and a Science or (Grade A-C) Essential
BTEC or equivalent BTEC Extended Diploma Electrical Engineering (Grade D* D* D) Essential
Things to consider
You must have a driving licence or be working towards obtaining one as this role may require travel to remote sites.
The main duties of the role include:
- Working on engineering projects from 11kV to 400kV to support the UK transmission and distribution networks
- Learning to use Autodesk Revit, Navisworks, AutoCAD and other design packages, such as Solid Works and Comsol
- Producing circuit diagrams for digital automation system designs and power cable system designs
What training will the apprentice take and what qualification will the apprentice get at the end?
- On this apprenticeship you will be following the Electrical/Electronic Engineering Degree Apprenticeship at a leading university. By the end of the programme, you'll have gained valuable on-the job experience, new skills and an honours degree
- On the job training and mentoring will be provided by principal engineers as well as the wider engineering teams
- Your responsibilities will increase throughout the duration of your apprenticeship as your skills and technical knowledge develop
