What will the apprentice be doing?

The main duties of the role include:
  • Working on engineering projects from 11kV to 400kV to support the UK transmission and distribution networks
  • Learning to use Autodesk Revit, Navisworks, AutoCAD and other design packages, such as Solid Works and Comsol
  • Producing circuit diagrams for digital automation system designs and power cable system designs


What training will the apprentice take and what qualification will the apprentice get at the end?
  • On this apprenticeship you will be following the Electrical/Electronic Engineering Degree Apprenticeship at a leading university. By the end of the programme, you'll have gained valuable on-the job experience, new skills and an honours degree
  • On the job training and mentoring will be provided by principal engineers as well as the wider engineering teams
  • Your responsibilities will increase throughout the duration of your apprenticeship as your skills and technical knowledge develop

You must have a driving licence or be working towards obtaining one as this role may require travel to remote sites.
