Job summary

This is an exciting opportunity for an aspiring HR professional to get on the job training whilst working alongside a dynamic People Team. This is an important role, working alongside the People Partnering team to provide an Ask HR first line of enquiry service. Answering emails, phone calls and linking our managers and staff to the information and signposting they need. Building up a knowledge bank of information at the same time for repetitive requests.

You must be willing to undertake the Level 3 HR Support Apprenticeship which will be funded by the Trust. The job description and person specification for this post will be applicable once the apprenticeship has been successfully completed and a recruitment process has taken place.

Main duties of the job

  • Provide a first contact service for people queries, liaising by telephone or email using good judgement to identify requirements in order to pass on information correctly or take appropriate action
  • Provide basic HR advice, in line with Trust policies and procedures, as well as employment law, demonstrating HEART values when communicating with staff.
  • Support meeting bookings, updating electronic record system, and sending letters following Trust policy guidelines.
  • Produce accurate minutes and administration support for a range of meetings.
  • Attend and participate in team and other meetings, ensuring any actions are completed by the required date and to take minutes if requested.
  • Keep records of types and volumes of queries, and present to wider people team.
  • Draft content for knowledge bank including FAQs and be responsible for keeping these up to date.
  • Keep the people sections of the Trust intranet up to date.

At commencement of the apprenticeship, you will be required to have Maths and English GCSE Grade C/Level 4 or above or Functional Skills for both at level 2.A criterion of the apprenticeship is that you attend college/virtual and complete all the necessary standards set out in the apprenticeship.Upon completion you will be awarded a HR support Level 3 Apprenticeship.You will be employed on a fixed term contract for the duration of your apprenticeship.You will be paid 20,270 for the first year of your apprenticeship and subject to achieving the competencies below you will move to 21,318 in Year 2.On completion of your apprenticeship, you will need to partake in the recruitment process within Solent to secure a position with a starting salary of 21,730End of Year 1 competencies to be achieved a minimum of 50% of your portfolio and have consistent performance in the workplace monitored during your regular reviews.
