What will the apprentice be doing?

The Project Administration Apprentice will be responsible for supporting the day-to-day of project management tasks. They will interact with a diverse range of stakeholders to ensure that accurate information is obtained in a timely way.

They will assist in the implementation of Business Improvement projects, playing a key role in the development, implementation and transition of initiatives.
  • Tracking of project budgets and expenditures
  • Setting up project meetings/venues and project communication
  • Handle the minute-taking at meetings
  • Assist with the set up and review of project plans
  • Track and update project progress via PM software and Microsoft365
  • Assist with project transition through the Business Improvement and product lifecycles
  • Maintain project compliance standards
  • Support the Data analytics team
  • Collate and compile project update reports
  • Participate in stakeholder engagement activities
  • Liaise with and chase for updates and information from stakeholders and project managers
  • Support the creation of documents and processes within Business Improvement procedures
  • Support in testing and quality management processes
  • Identifying and managing risks, issues and dependencies
  • Work closely with the Marketing and Communications Team to provide project progress updates to the organisation
  • Other reasonable duties directed by the Business Improvement Manager including report preparation and general associated duties

What training will the apprentice take and what qualification will the apprentice get at the end?

As a Project Management Apprentice, you will attend Access Training one day per month for the first 12 months of your programme, after the first year, you will attend Access Training, once per fortnight. You will work towards achieving the Level 4 Associate project manager
apprenticeship standard.

What is the expected career progression after this apprenticeship?

On completion of your apprenticeship, you will have many transferable skills. The standard wage for a Project Manager is in £40k plus. A project manager can work in the public sector, in private companies, or on a self-employed or freelance consulting basis.
