The Group (Parkwood Holdings) is made up of a group of companies that are leading providers of support services to public and private sector clients. The Group employs over 4,500 people throughout the UK providing services which including leisure management, green space management, and healthcare. 

Overview: 

The company have had a successful year which enables the continuous investment in its business and employees and it is looking to invest in an IT Service Desk apprentice to support the IT function.

Salary:

£12,000 - £15,000 per annum. 

Main responsibilities:

  • 1st line technical support to computer and systems users throughout the company; over the telephone or in person when required.
  • Install, repair and configure desktop PCs, VOIP phones, laptops, tablets, mobiles, printers, and network equipment.
  • Resolve technical problems experienced by computer users within the company by provision of technical support in the following areas: Answering telephone calls or responding to support requests via the Service Desk software
  • Hardware maintenance and repair of Desktop PCs (and peripherals)
  • Software installation and troubleshooting of: MS Windows 10 & 11, Chrome, OS, Google Apps & MS Office as well as the companies bespoke software
  • General IT admin duties
  • Maintain clear records of faults and assets
  • Act in accordance with the companies IT policies and procedures
  • Maintain good personal awareness of industry developments
  • Promote good and efficient working practices in the use of IT
  • Undertake other duties as may reasonably be required by the company

Desirable skills:

  • IT proficient with an interest in system configuration
  • Maintain good personal awareness of industry developments
  • An ability to install, configure and troubleshoot software, in particular programmes such as Windows 10 & 11, Google Apps and MS Office.

  • Able to work within tight deadlines and timescales
  • Have great attention to detail

A current UK driving license would be desirable, but is not essential.

  • Able to manage your time efficiently and have the willingness to take a hands-on approach
  • Able to build strong relationships with others
  • Good interpersonal skills and an ability to communicate effectively at all levels both in writing and verbally

Entry requirements:

The entry requirements for this Azure Cloud Support Specialist programme are as follows:

  • 3 GCSE’s (or equivalent) at grades 4+ (A-C) in any subject
  • GCSE Maths and English (or equivalents) at grades 3+ (D or above)
  • Prospective apprentices must not hold an existing qualification at the same or higher level as this apprenticeship is in a similar subject

You may also have a combination of qualifications and experience which demonstrate the minimum foundation needed for the programme. In this instance you could still be considered for the programme.

If you hold international equivalents of the above qualifications, at the time of your application you must be able to provide an official document that states how your international qualifications compare to the UK qualifications.
