Responsibilities You will take responsibility for the attraction, recruitment and development of the firms Trainee Solicitors and Apprentice Solicitors across our London, Manchester and Birmingham offices.
In this role, you will also have direct responsibility for the line management of the Graduate Recruitment Assistant, based in Manchester.
Graduate Recruitment Management Design and deliver marketing activity to reflect the firm's strategy and graduate opportunities in order to attract the right calibre and volume of candidates in a cost effective manner Collect and analyse data throughout the end to end graduate process, drawing insights and making recommendations accordingly.
Evaluate approaches and activities around attraction, selection, on boarding and development and implement improvements.
Deliver campus strategies with 'University Champions' and attend campus activities at target universities when required.
Overall management of the selection process including assessment centre exercises, training of assessors and vacation scheme programmes.
Assessment of candidates (application form, psychometric tests, telephone interviews and assessment centre) and feedback sessions to unsuccessful candidates Manage relationship with candidates throughout the recruitment process to ensure a positive candidate experience and high acceptance rate.
Manage the graduate recruitment and trainee budget.
Lead alongside the Head of Recruitment on the firm's strategy regarding the SQE.
Trainee Programme Management Management of trainees during their training contract to ensure SRA requirements are met and providing ongoing support and advice Organisation of seat rotations and qualification process Performance management of the trainee population and monitoring of work through appraisals and departmental meetings.
Monitor demand and utilisation of trainees within the firm Manage the relationship with the law school and PSC provider to ensure a high quality of training before commencement of the training contract.
Working closely with future and current trainees to ensure engagement in the firm and an understanding of their motivations and passions.
Liaise with clients regarding incoming and outgoing trainee secondments and ensuring arrangements are in place to ensure SRA requirements are met.
Deal with any issues which may arise with trainees, supervision or seats.
Apprentice Solicitors Recruitment Design and deliver marketing strategy and build relationships with schools and sixth form colleges to attract talented candidates for our Apprentice Solicitors programme in our London, Manchester and Birmingham offices.
Oversee the attraction and selection process and attend presentations and assessment centres.
Promote apprenticeships internally to encourage departments to recruit and utilise Apprentice Solicitors.
Provide support, guidance and training for new supervisors of Apprentice Solicitors and departments to encourage training, feedback and development.
Oversee the induction and ongoing development Apprentice Solicitors throughout their 6 year programme.
Performance management of Apprentice Solicitors population and regular liaison with departments.
Relationship management with the programme provider.
Key Skills & Experience Graduate recruitment and trainee development experience ideally a law firm.
Educated to degree level or equivalent as a minimum Excellent organisational and time management skills.
Strong interpersonal skills and confidence in dealing with people at all levels in the firm.
Excellent negotiation and influencing skills.
A full understanding and appreciation of maintaining the highest levels of confidentiality.
Excellent attention to detail and use of initiative.
Excellent client care at all times.
Thorough understanding of SRA requirements.
