Job Description:
Day to day duties likely to include:
Completing a variety of claims operations tasks and challenges, including processing insurance claims notifications, collating information and documents relating to a claim, analysing claims notifications, liaising with relevant professionals, handling telephone queries and other administrative aspects
- Reviewing insurance policy terms, identifying, investigating and escalating concerns to the relevant supervisor in a timely manner.
- Building the knowledge and skills required to work as an Insurance Claims Handler through on-the-job learning; developing the capability to meet industry standards.
- Creating a portfolio of work in line with apprenticeship end point assessment requirements.
- Involvement in bespoke projects to assist the department and wider firm, such as preparing for audits, process improvement and systems updates.
- Attending self-development meetings and completing work-based objectives in line with apprenticeship learning outcomes.
- Understanding the internal Service Level Agreement (SLA)'s and Key Performance Indicator (KPI)'s of the team and ensure adherence to these standards.
- Understanding Insurer requirements and complying with Insurer SLA's and KPI's.
- Responsibility for the proactive management of a workload.
- Responsibility for maintaining and ensuring the completeness, accuracy, quality and integrity of data on the electronic case management system for your caseload.
- Supporting monthly and ad hoc reporting to Insurer clients.
- Providing excellent customer service at all times, contributing to being a market leading claims function.
- Build and maintain effective working relationships with colleagues, customers and other insurance professionals to ensure defined service levels are met and exceeded.
- Ensure that quality assurance standards are achieved, and procedures followed to agreed standard.
The team is based in RPC's Bristol office at Bridgewater House. This role will be based in Bristol and travel to the London office may be required from time to time. The apprenticeship will take 18 months to complete.
Training Provided:
As an Insurance Practitioner Apprentice with BPP, you will complete the Insurance Practitioner level 3 Advanced Apprenticeship. This apprenticeship is aligned to the Chartered Insurance Institute (CII) and uses an innovative and flexible approach to demonstrating competency in the workplace. Completion of the apprenticeship will result in the awarding of the CII Certificate (IF1/ IF2 and choice of IF3/ 4/ 10).
Qualification Requirements:
5 GCSEs at grade 4 or above, including Maths and English

Hardworking, enthusiastic and motivated
Good attention to detail
A commitment to learning and development
Excellent communication skills, both orally and in writing
Organised and efficient, able to work under tight timescales
Team Player, with the ability to deal with difficult or demanding situations and clients
Future Prospects:
We envisage there will be opportunities to work in the department as a Claims Handler following the apprenticeship.
