Job Description:
JOB TITLE: Apprentice Paralegal
REPORTS TO: Training Partner
DEPARTMENT: Private Client
LOCATION: George Street, Wolverhampton
Role Purpose
The role of Apprentice Paralegal works closely with other fee earners to develop, practise and gain experience during their 2 year Apprenticeship covering both contentious and non-contentious areas of law.
Key Accountabilities
• To develop and maintain good client relation skills, gaining clients’ confidence and that of other professionals
• To work and behave in a professional manner and within the higher standards of the profession
• To comply with procedures set out in the Office Procedures Manual, professional code of conduct, etc
• Anticipate and where appropriate respond to clients’ needs and demands
• Participate in the growth and development of the firm
• To be aware of the firm’s business plan and marketing strategies and represent the firm at external forums, events, etc
• Keep up todate with developments in law and practice so that standard of work is not compromised
• Keep an accurate record of all work done and training received
Training Provided:
As a Paralegal Apprentice with BPP, you will complete the Paralegal Level 3 Advanced Apprenticeship. Additional learning within the apprenticeship will enable you to be awarded a Level 4 Certificate of Higher Education in Legal Services which can afford you exemptions from the first two years of the Level 7 Solicitor Apprenticeship.
Your apprenticeship shall be delivered by a blend of online and face-to-face training from and on-the-job learning.
Qualification Requirements:
3 A Levels at a minimum of 2 A Grades and 1 B Grade OR
•3 A Levels, 2 at A, 1 at B OR 5 GCSE’s at Grade 4,5 or above.
Personal Qualities & Skills:
Good IT Skills, word, excel and computer literate (full training will of course be provided).
Good writing skills and communication.
Attention to detail is very important.
Punctual and reliable as our clients rely on us to give them timely and efficient support.
Future Prospects:
Potential depending on performance to move to a Solicitor Apprenticeship, or CiLEX.
