Here you'll have the opportunity to make a meaningful difference in patients' lives. With science at its heart, this is the place where breakthroughs born in the lab become transformative medicines - for the world's most complex diseases. Answer unmet medical needs by pioneering the next wave of science, focusing on outcomes, and shaping the patient ecosystem.

With our ground-breaking pipeline, the outlook is bright. Be proud to be part of a place that has achieved so much, yet is still moving forward. There's no better time to join our global, growing enterprise as we lead the way for healthcare and society.

Discovery Sciences is a large function within AstraZeneca R&D containing a number of state-of-the-art scientific capabilities which enable early drug discovery programmes. Working across all therapy areas we drive the discovery process to deliver candidate drugs to patients in the clinic. We have a number of roles available covering a range of activities involved with early-stage discovery campaigns.

You could be involved with
  • Designing and producing our protein reagents
  • Building bespoke biochemical and cellular assays
  • Identifying new chemical starting points for disease targets or
  • Aiding the development of cell and gene-editing medicines

We are seeking highly motivated, dedicated, and scientifically curious apprentices to join the Discovery Sciences team.

You will have the opportunity to build your scientific capabilities, supporting drug discovery programs in a highly collaborative environment. If you're inspired by the possibilities of science to make a difference and are ready to discover what you can do - join us.

If successful, you will develop your science within an impactful team working at the heart of drug discovery projects.
