What will the apprentice be doing?

  • This includes working in concept studios, rapid prototyping, assembly, testing, validating and analysing performance
  • Typically working with suppliers and managers in contributing to redesigns of existing products

What training will the apprentice take and what qualification will the apprentice get at the end?

The foundation phase will be intensive on the job training developing the apprentice's core skills, knowledge and behaviour, allowing them to work effectively with supervision in a largely simulated working environment. The apprentice typically undertakes an HND or Foundation Degree.

The core competencies gained are then sufficiently transferable for someone to adapt quickly to function effectively after minimal instruction on new equipment/environments whilst completing an Engineering Degree.
