Qualifications
GCSE or equivalent 5 Subjects including Maths, English & Science (Grade 5 to 9) Essential
A Level or equivalent 3 Subjects inc- Maths and a STEM based subject (Grade CCC) Essential
- Signalling engineering activities including but not limited to design, project engineering, safety assurance, product development growing capability demonstrated through increased competency recognised in the Authority to work process
- To be familiar with and capable of working within the Alstom engineering processes e.g. ADDA, V&V, Requirements management, Configuration, RAM etc
- To assist qualified engineers in monitoring work package budgets
- Develop a general understanding of railway engineering systems
- To develop and understand the basics of regulations that apply to signalling engineering and the railway in general eg temporary works, CSM, CDM, electricity at work etc
- To work towards incorporated of chartered status from one of the main engineering institutions plus attain relevant IRSE certification
What training will the apprentice take and what qualification will the apprentice get at the end?
- You will gain a B.Eng in Control Technical Support Engineering from Aston University. This will be delivered through block delivery
- You will go through mandatory in-house training
- You will recieve specific signalling training
