What will the apprentice be doing?

• Learn the project management principles to Drive project / program execution, to maximize the results with respect to cash and margin whilst understanding delivery of projects on time, in conformity with the contract / Program Charter according to Customer expectations and the requirements on EHS
• Understand the value to seek additional opportunities in the frame of the contract / Program Charter with awareness to ensure Alstom Transport legal and contractual rights are protected
• Developing and documenting components of projects as required by the project team.
• Cost estimating, analysis and control activities
• Scheduling development, maintenance and monitoring
• Risk, assumptions, issues, dependencies and opportunities management
• Earned value management analysis and control activities
• Development of workforce planning and staffing plans
• Providing data to support business cases, strategic plans, and customer presentations
• Gaining an overview from PMs of bid evaluation and contract negotiations
• Building and maintaining a network of internal business contacts and peers to share and gain knowledge and identify opportunities to learn and develop
• Owning and being responsible for personal and professional development across the business
• Building awareness and understanding of how Project Controls functions (including PC sub-functions) work with PM and the wider business

What training will the apprentice take and what qualification will the apprentice get at the end?

You will complete the Level 6 Project Management degree Apprenticeship with York St John's University. You will attend workshops at the York campus.
