About the apprenticeship
Duties
The aim of the post will be to increase the participation of children and young people in consistent sporting activity, through the medium of Welsh.
Main duties and responsibilities:
1. Assist with the provision of a comprehensive service for the organisation and co-ordination of national sporting competitions and events under the instruction of the Events Team and Sports Competitions.
2. Assist the Events and Competitions Team in meeting targets of individual participation.
3. Assist with the preparation of information packs and presentations for the Sports Council of Wales and sports bodies which include gathering information about events.
4. Assist with the administrative work of national sports arrangements.
5. Assist with creating the reports on the National competitions.
6. Assist with the hiring of Centres for National Sports Competitions.
7. Collaborate to organise sports competitions with governing bodies, the Local Authority Sports Development Unit, Universities and Further Education Colleges.
8. Assist with the installation and monitoring of volunteers involved in National competitions.
9. Secure the support of volunteers and referees for national competitions alongside with the Urdd's National Sports Training Officer.
10. Work with schools and communities to promote Urdd Gobaith Cymru competitions and sporting events.
11. Take a hands-on role in sports competitions, ensuring the smooth running of the duties under his care.

iv. Experience of competing or assisting with the organisation of sports competitions.
v. An experience of working with children and young people would be an advantage.
vi. Experience in coaching will be an advantage.
vii. Understanding of the aim and objectives of Urdd Gobaith Cymru.
Qualifications
Essential
i. It will be necessary to possess a driving licence and car, or the ability to travel fully flexible and independently in order to perform this job.
ii. It will be necessary to be able to communicate in both English and Welsh for this role.
iii. An interest to develop professionally and take every opportunity.
