What will the apprentice be doing?
We are looking for a Civil/Structural Engineering Apprentice Technician to join our Structural team.
You will help a team including engineers and other professionals to assess, design and supervise civil engineering works. Projects and designs will come in all shapes and sizes, and could involve highways, bridges, and rail schemes.
You will work as part of multidisciplinary teams to help us deliver effective and professional services for a range of varied and high-profile clients, as well as local authorities and many others.
There will be opportunities to work on early-stage feasibility studies through to detailed design where you will contribute to developing and analysing 3D design models to deliver successful outcomes for our clients.
Furthermore, across all teams you will support a variety of work including the production of engineering drawings and sketches, virtual design reviews, preparation of engineering calculations and contributing to solutions for design challenges.
What training will the apprentice take and what qualification will the apprentice get at the end?
As part of your apprenticeship, you'll study towards the Level6 BSc or BEng Civil Engineer (Degree) qualification.
Our apprenticeships allow you to study for industry-recognised qualifications whilst earning a competitive salary. As an apprentice, you will study with a training provider, such as a university, and combine this experience with real responsibilities in the workplace. Your study pattern could be day or block release, or via distance learning, depending on the course that you enrol on. A dedicated mentor will guide you through your personal and professional development.
