Things to consider
This role will involve working outside, during all seasons of the calendar. It's a role where you'll work in different locations and support a number of sites, and your colleagues are there to help and look out for each other. This will be a physical role with travel included.
- Given exposure to different products through rotations or secondments during your apprenticeship
- Support the site teams in improving production efficiency
- Support site managers, maintenance managers and operations managers in the running of their teams and functions
- Basic maintenance and inspections on site
What training will the apprentice take and what qualification will the apprentice get at the end?
- The apprentice will receive a Level 5 qualification in Mineral Products Technician. The training at the University of Derby will be a block release. The on the job training will be given on various sites within Tarmac
- Apprentices without level 2 English and maths will need to achieve this level prior to taking the End-Point Assessment
What is the expected career progression after this apprenticeship?
- Once qualified, you can become a production manager
