Job Title: Criminology Graduate Hackney Aspiring Criminal Justice Officer - SEN Learning Support Assistant role Location: Hackney Salary Scale: GBP85-GBP90 per day Start Date: 13/02/2023 End Date: Mid July 2023 with the opportunity to extend in September 2023 Contract type: Long Term Contract, 5 days a week, 8 00 GSL The SEN LSA opportunity focussed on mental health and trauma, ideal if you aspire to have a career focussed Criminal, Social or Youth Justice, or looking at elements of social care and advocacy, for example. There is a large focus on Speech and Language Therapy, a cause of trauma or the resultant cause, children not being able to communicate can be at the foundation as to why mainstream schooling has not been suitable for the students. This is an outstanding opportunity for an individual with previous SEN experience OR a Graduate with a keen interest in this area of work. It is the perfect position for someone in search of hands-on experience working with social, emotional mental health needs. This SEMH Alternative Provision is situated in Barnet, supports boys and girls, all who have a range of additional needs associated with social, emotional mental health challenges. It s a mid sized, Primary and Secondary provision, with over 90 students as of writing, aged 5-16. The school offers a restorative, therapeutic approach to education and behaviour management, they want their children engaged in key and personal skills, giving the children skills they can use in and out of school. As a learning support assistant, you will be working in classes of 3-6 pupils with a staff to student ratio of 1:1. The school has recently been graded as good in key categories such as leadership and management and behaviour.
