This is also a good role for Child Development and Education Psychology, the range of need, mental Health. The Alternative Provision is situated in Haringey and feeds into one of the local Secondary schools, supports boys and girls, all who have a range of additional needs associated with social, emotional mental health challenges. It s a larger Primary and Secondary provision, with over 80 students, aged 9-16. The school offers a restorative, therapeutic approach to education and behaviour management, they want their children engaged in key and personal skills, giving the children skills they can use in and out of school. As a learning support assistant, you will be working in classes of 3-6 pupils with a staff to student ratio of 1:1. The school has recently been graded as good in key categories such as leadership and management and behaviour. This has largely been achieved through the school s commitment to its Restorative processes and programs, a lot is achieved through positive reinforcement.
