What will the apprentice be doing?
The Sales Team interface with every department across the business including Engineering, Quality, Production, Purchasing, Customers Services and Finance. We have responsibility for the commercial relationship with our customers and as a result have to be in a position to manage and respond to a wide range of tasks that can relate to anything from a question from Engineering about the status of a PO, to a request from a customer for additional parts, which might require a new quote. The tasks are interesting, diverse and will provide the right individual with a great opportunity to understand all of the tasks involved in the overall sales process.
The apprentice activities include:
What training will the apprentice take and what qualification will the apprentice get at the end?
Training will take place at our site on Alfreton Road Derby (DE21 4AP)
Qualification: Sales executive Level 4
What is the expected career progression after this apprenticeship?
Once qualified the Apprentice could progress to the role of Trainee Business Manager then Business Manager

The apprentice activities include:
- Providing sales support - responding to queries from customers and internal departments
- Supporting customer visits - ensuring arrangements are in place for visits, including room bookings, agenda preparation, ensuring presentation material is ready, attendees are confirmed and fully briefed, etc.
- Receiving customer orders and ensuring they are processed and fulfilled
- Liaising with Quality and Finance departments to ensure any customer returns are handled swiftly and effectively
- To work with Quality to understand and provide sales support with any technical matters
- Semi-conductors supply - working closely with Purchasing and Customer Services assessing the impact of component supply to ensure customer demand is fulfilled wherever possible
- Preparing customer quotations
- Supporting the Marketing Team in identifying and reviewing sales opportunities
