What will the apprentice be doing?

You will be on site shadowing the Construction team, gaining a better understanding of the role. You will be allocated tasks, attend meetings with subcontractors, and internal and external stakeholders allowing you to further your knowledge and expand your network.
  • Overseeing the logistics of a project.
  • Managing the subcontractors undertaking the works.
  • Work closely with the Senior CM & TSM in delivering the project.
  • Review designs and drawings, the project programme and contribute where necessary.
  • Produce logistic plans and method statements.
  • Manage the reporting of all health and safety issues including accidents and near misses.

What training will the apprentice take and what qualification will the apprentice get at the end?
  • Your apprenticeship is split into two parts, and you will receive a qualification at the end of each stage. For the first two years you will complete a level 4 HNC - Construction Site Supervisor. On completion of the HNC you will progress onto a level 6-Degree apprenticeship in Construction Site Management.
  • To support your learning, you will complete the Level 6 course on a 'day release' basis; meaning that you will work on site, four days a week and have one day where you will attend the University of Westminster.
  • Your University or College will provide you with all the academic support and materials needed to help you complete your degree. You will also have a dedicated Apprentice Co-ordinator who will regularly catch up with you and your supervisor to share information regarding your progress and to discuss how you are doing with the academic syllabus, your coursework, and exams. Your degree will achieve professional qualification to CIOB
