What will the apprentice be doing?

Digital Services have got a pivotal role to play in the future of digital roads and we are looking for the next generation of project managers who has a passion for innovation and helping National Highways to move more towards a digital focus. Your work will focus purely on developing and enhancing projects in line with our digital strategy.

This is a fantastic opportunity to develop your knowledge, skills and competence in the workplace with the benefit of support from your learning provider, experienced colleagues, and the wider business. As a Project Management apprentice, you'll be responsible for:
  • Understanding what needs to be achieved in a project
  • Organising how it will be achieved
  • Implementing time scales
  • Discussing costs and managing budgets

The 2-yearprogramme will be within our Digital Services directorate and will provide you with the opportunity to rotate on a variety of different projects whilst working towards gaining a Level 4 qualification. You will get the chance to learn about project management, risks and issues, project planning, resource management, finances, benefits tracking and business change - all in a day's work for a Project Manager.

  • Level 4 Project Management
  • Level 2 Functional Skills in maths and English (if required).
