What will the apprentice be doing?

Where you start with Amazon doesn't determine the course of your career, so many of our apprentices develop themselves beyond their wildest imaginations and we truly value early talent and your thoughts, ideas and contributions. Within your role you'll be encouraged to, and inspired to, make an impact developing skills for life throughout.

The apprenticeship combines working, earning a full-time salary, with fully funded part-time education. This will give you the opportunity to gain a Level 4 apprenticeship standard in Buying and Merchandising qualification with the advantage of gaining relevant work-life skills and the excitement of helping to develop lower prices, better selection, and more convenient services for our customers from delivering fresh produce to their doorstep to creating and distributing movies, music, and more whilst taking your first steps towards a rewarding career.

This 24-month programme teaches you a vast range of useful experiences and skills, whilst working towards the Buying and Merchandising Apprenticeship qualification. You will collate, analyse and distribute sales and performance reports, identifying trends, trading patterns and highlighting anomalies. You will communicate and escalate findings accordingly and will also work collaboratively as a team to contribute to the delivery of the department/company sales and profit targets.

Whilst working on the Buying and Merchandising level 4 Apprenticeship, your responsibilities will include:
  • Maintaining buying system data input and integrity
  • Vendor co-ordination on new product setup, samples and availability
  • Root causing and resolving defects
  • Owning reporting and customer insight to identify trends

You will also have the opportunity to develop commercial skills by supporting the business management and product development teams with product creation, planning, reporting and managing our ever-evolving business. This position offers an exciting opportunity to learn about our diverse brands and products as part of a global team.

Working alongside the team, you will support with day-to-day tasks learning how Amazon works and delivers for its customers and as your knowledge and skills develop over the duration of the scheme you will have opportunities to be part of, and lead projects, making a real difference for customers.

In addition to extensive development of your technical skills, you will also grow your abilities in crucial complementary areas like organisation, prioritisation, data and problem-solving techniques, teamwork, communication, presentation skills and document writing.

At Amazon we strive to be the Earth's most customer-centric company, we put our customers first and strive to meet their unmet needs worldwide.
