Apprenticeship programme

During this Level 3 Engineering programme, we will help you to develop your practical skills and knowledge required for you to succeed in this role as well as your future career. Throughout the 42 - month programme, you will continue to develop your behaviours such as team working, problem-solving and customer focus. Veolia as a business is not only interested in what you accomplish, but the manner you do it.

As well as gaining a broad range of technical and professional knowledge and experience, you’ll also gain academic and vocational qualifications such as a Level 3 Diploma, Level 3 Competency & Knowledge Skills Certificate, as well as H&S (IOSH) Awareness Training. 

 

What will you be doing?

You will be trained, coached and mentored to carry out the on-site operation and maintenance support on a range of industrial utility equipment which includes CHP, Steam Boiler’s with associated plant, Pumps and Motors, Water Treatment plant including softeners, filtration systems and chemical dosing, Air compressors, Refrigeration plant, Effluent Treatment plant and Legionella (L8).

 

Working alongside a technician you will:

  • Carry out planned and reactive maintenance on steam boilers and utility plants, compressed air systems, cooling systems (L8), pumps and motors.
  • Assist with routine steam boiler operational tasks to comply with legislation and company procedures.
  • Carry out planned preventative maintenance (PPM) activities with the ability to multi-skill where possible with a proven trade bias.
  • Carry out fault diagnosis on electrical LV control and power circuits.
  • Regular monitoring, supervision and interaction of key sub-contractors.

What are we looking for?

  • A minimum of 4 GCSEs Grade 4 (C or equivalent) or above/predicted to include Maths & English
  • Good communication skills
  • Be able to work a flexible system to meet the demands of the business and team
  • Good written and verbal communication skills
  • Logical thinker
  • Attention to detail
  • Full UK driving licence is desirable
