Weekly Hours Worked - 09:00am-17:30pm Monday to Friday

Based in Guildford Surrey. A fast-growing Microsoft Office 365 Partner of the year is looking to add an IT service desk apprentice to join its rapidly growing managed services team. This program takes place over 13 months with a mixture of work, web, on site and remote training.

As part of your career development, you will be supported using our “buddy system” partnering with an existing service desk analyst to accelerate your learning. Our service desk analysts consist of both past apprentices and technical engineers with a combined experience profile of over 75 years.

Your duties and responsibilities in this role will consist of:

  • Completing and passing the necessary modules for the apprenticeship scheme.
  • Working on new & outstanding support requests.
  • Learning and developing key skills in the following areas
  • Microsoft 365 Exchange, SharePoint, Teams, OneDrive, and Office.
  • IT Infrastructure Active Directory, DNS, DHCP.
  • End User Compute Device Management, Windows 10, Intune.
  • Corporate Software Office, Bespoke business applications.
  • Customer Service Skills.
  • Attending customer site visits with other members of the team (Subject to COVID-19 guidance)
  • Answering inbound telephone calls from our portfolio of customers.
  • Owning inbound chat, email, and self-service requests.
  • Developing core troubleshooting skills across a range of technology.

Qualifications:

  • 5 GCSEs grades A*-C/9-4 or equivalent (including English Language and Maths)
  • BTEC National Diploma or National Certificate at a Merit or Distinction or A2 (A level) in Computing desirable.

Technical & Personal Skills Required:

  • Genuine passionate for technology.
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • Willingness to learn.
  • Commitment to the completion of the apprentice program.
  • Basic understanding of Windows.
  • Motivation and enthusiasm.
  • Passion for technology with a desire to learn.
  • The ability to use your own initiative, be curious and to work unsupervised as required.
  • Accuracy and attention to detail.
  • Enjoys working as part of a high performing team to achieve a common goal with a can-do attitude.
  • A calm and professional manner with a flexible and adaptable approach to work.
  • Ability to prioritise workload.
  • Ability to learn new systems quickly.

Future prospects:

Upon completion of the apprenticeship and as you develop both your technical and soft skills you can expect to progress from an IT apprentice to a junior support analyst, previous apprentices that have been through similar programs have progressed up to heads of department within the organization.

Training to be provided:

Successful completion of this apprenticeship gives you an accredited Level 3 Information Communications Technician, with training in how to:

  • Efficiently operate and control your ICT infrastructure – physical or virtual hardware, software, network services and data storage.
  • Use infrastructure management tools to automate the provisioning, testing, deployment and monitoring of infrastructure components.
  • Prioritise systems support tasks and monitor and maintaining system performance.
  • Maintain regulatory, legal and professional standards.
  • Support the information systems needs for your business.
