Once qualified, many apprentices receive sponsorship from the company to study for degrees and other higher qualifications, which can enable them to develop their careers into a more senior role within the business.
Many of the successful applicants that have joined the company on the apprentice scheme have worked their way up through the ranks to some of the most senior positions within the company and due to this, apprentices are held in very high regard within the company.

Things to consider
We are looking for people who are looking for a long term career so we expect a proactive attitude to learning and a desire from you to progress your own development. You have to complete an application form which is then assessed and based on the information you provide you may then be invited to an assessment day.
- Supporting the development and delivery of operational plans
- Measure and monitor outcomes in relevant departments to establish operational effectiveness
- Supporting the development of organisational strategies for the business
- Set targets and KPIS within role specific requirements
- Negotiate cost down projects and apply improvement strategies with key suppliers
- Customer relations development with the use of customer insight and analysis of data
What training will the apprentice take and what qualification will the apprentice get at the end?
- Qualifications achieved are level 6 Chartered Manager Degree and the Level 5 Diploma in Management & Leadership from CMI (Chartered Management Institute)
- This training will take place on Teesside University Campus one day per week (term time) across the 4 year apprenticeship
Departmental training will also take place on Gestamp premises and will include:
Training in the individual departments can include:
- HR: absence, training &recruitment, lbour control, H&S, etc.
- Sales: costing, quotation analysis, negotiation skills, etc.
- Purchase: supplier management, negotiation skills, cost reduction, etc.
- Finance: purchase & sales ledger, cost analysis, profit & loss, budget forecasts, asset control, etc.
- Production control: planning, forecasting, build plans, timing schedules, customer relations, etc.
