What will the apprentice be doing?

A great opportunity for a Support Technician to join a market-leading risk management and claims handling software provider based in rural Hampshire.

Working as part of the support team within the operations department, you will be providing support to a large client base through email, helpdesk and on the telephone. You'll also be responsible for improving and maintaining the internal IT Infrastructure.

Your role will involve working closely with other departments including Sales, R&D and as well as speaking with clients and 3rd party suppliers, so excellent communication skills are key!

Your duties and responsibilities in this role will consist of:
  • Triaging support tickets and ensuring that tickets are monitored and updated in a timely manner
  • Responding and resolving customer contacts via email and telephone
  • Create and maintain knowledge articles
  • Assist where required with Client training & updates

Qualifications:
  • 5 GCSEs grades A*-C/9-4 or equivalent (including English Language and maths)

Skills Required:
  • Maintaining high levels of customer service standards by building relationships with customers and being proactive and attentive to their needs.
  • Worked in an IT helpdesk related discipline
  • Knowledge of Windows Operating systems and Networking
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Self-disciplined, good planning and organisation skills
  • Full clean UK driving license or equivalent (for visiting external clients)

Throughout the apprenticeship learners receive coaching, help and guidance from a dedicated team who are there to ensure they get the most from their programme.

Successful completion of this apprenticeship gives you an accredited Level 4 Applications Support Lead qualification, with training in how to:
  • Provide tactical advice, training and support on core technology applications (both hardware and software) to internal colleagues and external clients and customers to enhance and enable the delivery of application-based products and services
  • Delivers the roll-out of upgrades to existing technologies, implement new technologies for use by colleagues and provide change management support to them
  • Assist with the planning of IT application and infrastructure change projects, implementing, testing and rolling out software and hardware relating to these change projects
  • Implement and support the creation of remote working environments
