IT Apprentice

As an apprentice this role will cover the full breadth of IT infrastructure within the business from managing end-user issues to handling cyber security threats and maintaining business continuity is maintained  and will support the IT Manager.

Tasks will range from handling day to day issues as they arise with user to larger scaled projects including system migrations and new equipment installations. 

Duties will include:

• Managing hardware and software used by all staff day to day
• Acting as the first line of troubleshooting to all IT issues and liaising with further sources of support as required
• Maintaining of server infrastructure and environment to ensure optimal performance
• Assisting with upgrade projects for software/hardware

What training will the apprentice take and what qualification will the apprentice get at the end? Level 3 Information Communications Technician supported by learning platform and 121 skills coach. With online learning and virtual classrooms.

What is the expected career progression after this apprenticeship?

Continued progression within the IT department can be expected for the correct individual taking on additional responsibilities as their career progresses.

Annual wage: £9,379.50 - There will be pay increments/reviews in line with job responsibility throughout the apprenticeship. Working week: 7:30am -4:15pm Monday to Thursday & 7:30am-12noon on a Friday. Expected duration: 18 Months

IT skills, Attention to detail, Customer care skills, Team working, Initiative, Enthusiasm, Self motivated, Willingness to learn.  Qualifications GCSE or equivalent Maths , English & ICT (Grade 4 / C / PASS) is Essential.
