Work Environment:

 

During your programme, you will work in a team dedicated to a particular group of clients and will be the first point of contact for many operational queries. It’s a role where you will complete daily tasks, as well as work on projects that will improve the performance of your team and the organisation as a whole.

 

What might a day in this job look like?

 

 

As a Trainee Client Accounting Associate you will provide support to two teams. You’ll initially join the Accountancy Governance and will then progress to one of our regional teams. These teams strive to build strong relationships with our external and internal clients, allowing them to provide the best possible service. Your tasks will include:

 

  • Keeping our client’s information up to date Working closely with in-house operational colleagues Completing accounting reconciliations Manage and provide answers to queries on our internal Query Management system Participate in team projects and meetings Working with colleagues to enhance the service we provide

 

 

 

 

What will I Learn?

 

 

 

The apprenticeship programme will provide a mixture of classroom based and on the job training to allow you to achieve a SVQ in Providing Financial Services at SCQF Level 6. You will also be expected to sit and pass the Introduction to Securities & Investment module of the Investment Operations Certificate (IOC) during your apprenticeship.

This will be a combination of technical training to do your job to the best of your ability, professional skills courses, and the opportunity to learn about the investment management industry.

 

 

By the end of the programme you will be the first point of contact for all administrative, bookkeeping and operations queries on your group of clients.

 

 

 

What Qualifications / Qualities are required?

 

  • Excellent communication skills
  • Ability to build strong relationships
  • Strong customer focus
  • The ability to work well in a team
  • A positive attitude and enthusiastic manner
  • Good organisation and time management skills
  • The ability to work methodically and accurately
  • A National 5 in Maths and English, or equivalent, as a minimum
