An exciting opportunity to be working on a varied client portfolio gaining exposure to all aspects of accountancy such as bookkeeping, payroll & CIS whilst studying Level 3 AAT with Babington. This 18-month apprenticeship will equip you with expert knowledge in various aspects of accounting such as bookkeeping, payroll, taxation, etc.

What will the apprentice be doing?

Main duties to include but not limited to:

  • Preparation of accounts - sole trader, partnership, and limited companies
  • Bookkeeping - maintenance of client records on a range of accounting packages, including sales and purchase invoice controls, receipts and payment analysis, bank reconciliations, and VAT reconciliations
  • VAT – preparation and submission of client VAT Returns
  • Payroll & CIS – preparation of monthly client reports and submissions
  • Personal Taxation – assistance with and completion of Self-Assessment Tax Returns
  • Corporation Taxation – preparation with and completion of CT Returns
  • Client correspondence - both written and verbal communication
  • General administration - such as filing, relating to the office and client
  • Other ad hoc duties if and when required

What training will the apprentice take and what qualification will the apprentice get at the end?

Level 3 Assistant Accountant Apprenticeship Standard.

  • 18 month duration with 15 months of the learning period and 3 months end point assessment
  • Level 2 Maths and English functional skills if required
  • Remote delivery

What is the expected career progression after this apprenticeship?

The directors are keen to find an exemplary candidate who after completion, is happy to progress onto the AAT Level 4 and who will continue to strive for personal growth and development as well as the businesses.

Working week

Monday - Friday, 9.00am - 5.00pm.

Total hours per week: 35 hours a week

Qualifications Required 

  • GCSE or equivalent Maths & English (Grade C/4) essential
