What you will be doing

 

This role sits within our safety critical FPGA development team, who work across all phases of the design lifecycle. The team uses agile scrum methods to develop high integrity solutions using the latest state-of-the-art toolsets. With their all-round support and comprehensive training, you’ll gain the skills to develop requirements, architectures, designs and HDL code for controls functions essential for the protection and monitoring of nuclear propulsion plant. Day to day, your work will include (but isn’t limited to):

 

  • defining requirements creating architectural designs writing VHDL and Verilog HDL code simulating designs at unit, integration and system level undertaking synthesis, place & route and static timing analysis developing scripts for process automation.

To be successful in this role you will need to:

 

  • have a degree in Electronics Engineering, Computer Science, or another similar discipline have some knowledge of digital electronics design and programmable hardware be motivated to learn new techniques and tools have good people and communication skills and a strong customer focus be able to organise your own, as well as other people’s work

To work for the Rolls-Royce Submarines Business an individual has to hold Security Check (SC) clearance without any caveats to that clearance. Rolls-Royce will support the application for Security Clearance if the individual does not currently already have this in place.

 

Due to the nature of work the Business conducts and the protection of certain assets a person has to be a UK national or in MoD approved cases a Dual National from a non ITAR country.
