What will the apprentice be doing?

You will be assigned to a range of projects and day to day tasks could include:
  • Designing and engineering traffic management solutions to improve transport networks.
  • Transformational placemaking to reduce the impact of transport on the built and natural environment.
  • Developing solutions to improve walking and cycling provision.
  • Considering solutions that cater for a range of users.
  • Aligning transport schemes to the current policy context (e.g. decarbonisation, sustainability and economic recovery).

What training will the apprentice take and what qualification will the apprentice get at the end?
  • Level 6 Civil Engineering Apprenticeship
  • Successful apprentices will gain a BSc or BEng civil engineering degree which is accredited by the Joint Board of Moderators
  • University of West England, Bristol
  • The training will be day release

What is the expected career progression after this apprenticeship?

If you are successful in being offered a permanent role with Jacobs at the end of the apprenticeship, you will be given the opportunity for further development and qualifications, depending on the business need and your capabilities and interests. Past apprentices have taken up roles of Graduate Transport Planner and have been given opportunities to work in different areas of the business, or at different locations across the UK if desired.
