What will the apprentice be doing?

The job holder is responsible for designing schematics for complex Audio-Visual systems.

The Job holder shall be capable of manage simple and/or routine designs without supervision.

Key responsibilities:
  • Produce high quality design of complex Audio-Visual systems as instructed by senior members of the team in CAD
  • Surveying rooms and AV systems with the objective of categorising their suitability for teaching
  • You will be evaluating Acoustics, lighting, and technology of the spaces
  • Assist senior staff with witness testing and handover of installations
  • As a member of the research and development solutions team, dealing with new technologies and complex new systems is likely; as such, good analytical and logical thinking are a must

Other tasks include:
  • Optimisation of live audio-visual services and systems, e.g. DSP functional design, Control Systems interfaces (Crestron), application control
  • Contribute and support to the development and maintenance of the AV Standard

The above list of responsibilities may not be exhaustive, and the post holder will be required to undertake such tasks and responsibilities as may reasonably be expected within the scope and grading of the post.

  • On and off the job training
  • Day release at College/Training Provider

What is the expected career progression after this apprenticeship?
  • Depending on the circumstances of the business upon completion of the apprenticeship programme there could be a potential position of employment available
