We are an exciting and well-equipped test facility, providing a Materials Testing service to industries such Aeronautical, Formula One, Defence and Renewable Energy.
Our laboratory has an international reputation for delivering reliable, accurate test data alongside excellent customer service, within the fast-growing industry of composite materials.
We are currently recruiting for a materials technician to join our fantastic team. This is a superbopportunity to start your career in the world of composite material testing by joining one of the UK’s leading composite test houses.
Job Description:
This is an interesting and varied job role. The successful applicant will be working within a small team, reporting directly to a Section Leader, and will initially gain skills such as:
- Using equipment such as laminate plate saw, band saw, hydraulic press and polishing equipment for the manufacture of test specimens.
- Performing of mechanical testing by operating sophisticated mechanical and thermal test machines.
- The visual analysis of test specimens to determine the failure mode.
- The analysis of test data and the creation of technical reports.
Skills/ Qualifications
Although full training will be provided to the right applicant, we require the following as a minimum:
- GCSE English, Maths and Science (Preferably)
- Some knowledge and experience in the use of computer software e.g. Word, Excel.
- Good communication skills- both verbal and written.
- Methodical approach to problem solving.
- High level of accuracy and attention to detail.
- Enjoy practical work.
Hours
This is a Full-Time contract of 40 hours per week.
Working Patterns can be open to negotiation.
Salary & Benefits
£16640 (equivalent to £8 per hour)
