We are currently recruiting for a materials technician to join our fantastic team. This is a superbopportunity to start your career in the world of composite material testing by joining one of the UK’s leading composite test houses.

Job Description:

This is an interesting and varied job role. The successful applicant will be working within a small team, reporting directly to a Section Leader, and will initially gain skills such as:

• Using equipment such as laminate plate saw, band saw, hydraulic press and polishing equipment for the manufacture of test specimens.

• Performing of mechanical testing by operating sophisticated mechanical and thermal test machines.

• The visual analysis of test specimens to determine the failure mode.

• The analysis of test data and the creation of technical reports.

Skills/ Qualifications

Although full training will be provided to the right applicant, we require the following as a minimum:

• GCSE English, Maths and Science (Preferably)

• Some knowledge and experience in the use of computer software e.g. Word, Excel.

• Good communication skills- both verbal and written.

• Methodical approach to problem solving.

• High level of accuracy and attention to detail.

• Enjoy practical work.

Hours

This is a Full-Time contract of 40 hours per week.

Working Patterns can be open to negotiation.

Salary & Benefits

£16640 (equivalent to £8 per hour)
