What will the apprentice be doing?

Throughout your apprenticeship you'll be given a tailored training plan to work through, supported by both your allocated Mentor and your Manager. On a day to day basis you'll be given greater exposure to your division and the roles of your team members.

Typical placements could include:
  • Planning your own sales activities, leading the end-to-end sales interaction with the customer and managing your sales internally within Aggregate Industries
  • Responsibility for retaining and growing a number of existing customer accounts, and generating new business by contacting prospective customers, qualifying opportunities and bringing the sales process to a mutually acceptable close
  • You will develop customer relationships by establishing rapport and building trust and confidence in your own capabilities through demonstration of detailed product knowledge, competitor knowledge and an understanding of the market in which they operate, and by ensuring a positive customer experience.

Various locations: South West, South East, Scotland, Midlands and North West.

What training will the apprentice take and what qualification will the apprentice get at the end?

The successful candidate will study a Level 4 Sales Executive higher apprenticeship with Mercuri. This has been created by commercial experts to ensure sales professionals have the knowledge, skills and behaviours to sell successfully, consistently and ethically through the most effective channels.

The integrated blended learning approach not only supports and engages different learner styles it also supports remote learning whilst gaining the skills on the job.

You will complete the following 10 modules:
  • Induction
  • Vision, Value and Capability
  • Understanding Customer Needs
  • Customer and Market Understanding
  • The Sales Person
  • Sales Planning
  • Presenting Solutions
  • Negotiating, Handling Objections and Closing
  • Pro-activity and Relationship Building
  • Financial Understanding

  • The learning doesn't stop there, throughout the apprenticeship you're given the opportunity to attend various development interventions organised by the Company's Learning and Development Team
