What will the apprentice be doing?
What training will the apprentice take and what qualification will the apprentice get at the end?
Automation and controls engineering technician L4 apprenticeship standard.
We have partnered with Cheshire South and West to offer the Qualifications. The course blends the best aspects of learning with work-based activity, with day release at college whilst learning real skills in the Workplace.
Attendance at college will be 2 days per week in years 1 & 2 followed by monthly assessment visits to support the apprentice to compile the portfolio of evidence in year 3.
What is the expected career progression after this apprenticeship?
Successful completion of the apprenticeship could eventually lead to a role such as Controls Engineer.

GCSE or equivalent English (Grade GCSE C or 4) Essential

Things to consider
Applicants should hold 5 GCSE's Grade C/4 or above including Maths & English. The plant is not on a bus route, so you will require your own transport, when based at Plant. This is a Manufacturing/ Shop floor based industry
- As part of a multi-disciplinary team working alongside other stakeholders, a fully competent Automation & Control Engineering Technician will install, maintain, fault find and optimise hardware and software for automation systems
- You will work closely with the CCRW Team to support implementation and ongoing improvement of the Manufacturing Facility at Ellesmere Port, including new vehicle introductions
- We have vacancies within our Body Shop and Paint Shop
