About the apprenticeship

Duties

• Support in the creation and management of specific project plans and work with a variety of stakeholders across the business to ensure projects are delivered in an efficient and timely manner from initiation to closure.
• Act as an intermediary to facilitate discussions with all stakeholders and senior managers, to support effective decision-making essential for the successful delivery of projects
• Develop methodical skills such as problem solving and time management as you will be supporting the team to ensure projects are completed within time, budget and scope.
• Support the team to manage any risks with clear documentation and by utilising working groups and resolving with the project team, who are Subject Matter Experts (SMEs)
• Manage projects through the required governance by ensuring there is a clear business case and establishing the benefit of the project.
• Develop and enhance personal skills such as confidence, assertiveness, focus, adaptability, curiosity
• Have the opportunity to meet and network with new colleagues within your team, but also across the wider organisation which is a great opportunity to develop your collaboration and listening skills

Additional information

The team is responsible for the day-to-day delivery of projects, they work to a plan and manage a number of deliverables within a project framework in order to successfully deliver the project to their business stakeholders. Some of the key skills you would develop, and use are communication, time and task management, leading and working with a team to resolve any identified risks and issues that arise during the life of the project, whilst managing the relationship with key stakeholders in the business. The project manager will drive the project to completion and is a critical for success. Projects the team manage include, but aren't limited to:

• IT projects - implementing new systems/upgrading current systems
• Changing of processes
• Implementing process efficiencies
• As a project manager, no project or programme is the same so if you like a variety within a safe environment (e.g. industry standards, guidelines and best practice) and you are a detail-orientated, organised person that enjoys working collaboratively - then a career in project management is for you.

Join us on a 30 month programme which includes sponsorship to study for a Level 4 Project Management qualification, whilst building your business acumen. You'll receive on the job training and coaching from your line manager.

We're not expecting prior industry experience, but we'll want to see that you have the aptitude, potential and desire which will ultimately lead to you being successful. We'll teach you the rest!

Qualifications

To qualify for the programme, you will need:

• 5 x GCSE's at grade 4-9 (A-C) or above (or equivalent) including Maths and English
• Minimum 96 UCAS points or equivalent level 3 qualification e.g. A-Levels
• To not currently be on a government funded training course, e.g. on apprenticeship
• The right to work in the UK and have lived in the UK or EEA for the past 3 consecutive years.
• To not have a degree as this is a career starter programme

In brief, our assessment stages process will include: CV Application: This will be reviewed to ensure you meet the basic requirements for the role, we do not require work experience for entry level roles and understand that CVs may not have huge amounts of detail at this stage of your career Video Interview: This will take approximately 20minutes, we will ask some questions that will help us understand your motivation for L&G and the Apprenticeship we are offering Assessment Centre: Comprised of a competency-based interview, group activity and an individual work based activity Provisional Offer subject to enrolment: If you are successful in the assessment centre, you'll receive a provisional job offer, the final step will be for you to enrol on the training course. Once this is complete, we can officially offer you the job!
