This is a fantastic opportunity for the right candidate to work as an Apprentice Childcare Assistant at Gap Club.

We are looking for people who want to work towards a Level 2/Level 3 qualification in childcare. This is a great way to start your career with a supportive employer, with the prospect to gain further responsibility and promotion once qualified.

Main job role will include;

To demonstrate a genuine care for children and have an understanding of children's development, their needs and the provision of positive play. 

To learn relevant skills for working with groups of children aged 3 to 11+ years. 

To care for and supervise the group of children assigned to you, ensuring their safety at all times. 

To create an interesting and stimulating environment for the child to develop all their skills. 

Providing at all times a warm and caring environment and to be as consistent as possible regarding that environment meets the needs of individual children from differing cultures and religious backgrounds, and stages of development. 

To take an interest in the children and their families, to treat them as individuals and with respect at all times. 

To implement and promote all Gap Club Policies and Staff Rules. 

To be aware of Health and Safety at Work Act, to assist in keeping records, such as observations, accident and incident forms, risk assessment as appropriate.

As an apprentice you will be included on a Level 2/3 Early Years Educator Apprenticeship, this will involve a Regional Trainer visiting you once a month in the workplace from an award winning training provider.

What will be involved in your apprenticeship?

• To undertake a developmental programme as part of an apprenticeship which is achieved within the given timescale
• To actively participate in your own development plan working through the apprenticeship with the apprenticeship provider and with the nursery setting too
• To keep your mentor informed of your progress and to raise any concerns or issues 
• Monthly 1-1 meetings with a Regional Trainer from Inspiro to guide you through your apprenticeship.
