What will the apprentice be doing?
As you develop, we will give you the opportunity to support projects being taken forward by our team of safety professionals, and we will organise several Defence Nuclear work-based job placements, rotating within different departments on a 6 monthly basis.
You will complete your vocational qualifications, spending block placements at university along with a regular study day.
What training will the apprentice take and what qualification will the apprentice get at the end?
You will gain an Ordnance, Munitions and Explosives (OME) Level 6 Professional Degree (BEng)
The apprentice will be based at Abbey Wood, Bristol. Placements are at various locations such as Abbey Wood, Plymouth, Aldermaston or other MoD locations.
The Apprentice will be on site at Abbey Wood (or other location) for 4 days, plus one day study leave. University attendance is in 2 week blocks over the year.
What is the expected career progression after this apprenticeship?
On successful completion of the degree apprenticeship programme, positions will be available across the DNE in a range of locations.
