What will the apprentice be doing?

Under the supervision of highly skilled team you will become competent in the following:
  • Helping in the development of business processes and procedures
  • Develop understanding of quality tools such as 5 Why's and Fishbone
  • Internal auditing to ensure that work is being performed correctly
  • Applying critical thinking and problem solving skills to non-conformities
  • Preparing corrective action plans and improvements
  • Inspecting and testing materials for defects
  • Assisting in supply chain quality management
  • Logging and processing non-conformity reports
  • Producing reports for the Quality Manager
  • Witnessing testing with preparing and presenting of reports
  • Reviewing quality documentation
  • Co-ordinating with external quality assurance providers
  • Working with internal teams to drive customer satisfaction

You may be asked to undertake tasks which requires you to develop knowledge across multiple disciplines so that you are able to play a key role in the quality assurance of our world leading products.

What training will the apprentice take and what qualification will the apprentice get at the end?

Upon completion of your apprenticeship you will obtain a Manufacturing engineer Level 6 qualification (or equivalent) with Bournemouth and Poole College through day release once a week.

We also offer the opportunity to complete further qualifications should you want to continue your studies.

What is the expected career progression after this apprenticeship?

In any of these roles you will be supported with the necessary training and development to provide you with the skills and experience to become a future technical leader and Chartered Engineer. You can help drive forward AEUK's exciting engineering product development and contribute directly to UK national defence.
