What will the apprentice be doing?
On our Apprenticeship Scheme, you will learn from some of the UK's leading Software Developers, providing exposure to the full software lifecycle and the opportunity to join one of our small, fast-paced, agile delivery teams;
You will work to become a Full Stack Software Developer in a supportive, social and constructive environment.
The Apprenticeship will last for a minimum 24 months and you will be assigned a wellbeing manager, a technical mentor, along with the continued support from both CACI and South Gloucestershire and Stroud College. (SGSC)
Main Duties:
What training will the apprentice take and what qualification will the apprentice get at the end?
Apprentices must achieve one internationally recognised vendor or professional qualification and also a knowledge module. SGS has elected to deliver the on-programme learning using the combination listed below. These must both be passed before the end point assessment can take place.
Apprentices will have their Knowledge and Technical Understanding formally assessed at relevant times during their apprenticeship. Evidence will be collated within a portfolio of evidence.
Those completing the apprenticeship are eligible to apply for registration onto the register of IT technicians confirming SFIA level 3 professional competence.
Resources
Resources will be available through Smart Assessor, the e-portfolio platform used by the college for apprentices.
To attend college 1 day per week at our Filton Campus.
Level 4 Software Developer standard is 24 Months.
What is the expected career progression after this apprenticeship?
Successful completion of the Level 4 apprenticeship will lead into a permanent position within the company.

- A Software Developer Apprenticeship at IIG will teach you a wide range skills, both technical & interpersonal.
- Developing full-stack solutions as a polyglot developer.
- Creating logical and maintainable code for a deployable environment.
- Working in agile environments using methodologies such as Scrum and Kanban.
- Use tools such as GitLab to build continuous integration pipelines, which help monitor and ensure software quality and security.
- Testing code and execute analysis of results to correct errors found using a variety of testing methods.
- Communicating software solutions and ideas to technical and non-technical stakeholders - both internally and externally.
