Things to consider
The post would be particularly attractive to candidates with practical skills and those who have basic engineering skills and a fascination/interest in how things work
- They will work both in workshops and in clinical areas helping to deliver a range of technical services including equipment installation, repair, maintenance and calibration
- They will participate in equipment quality assurance and planned preventative maintenance activity
- They will assist in the production of treatment devices
What training will the apprentice take and what qualification will the apprentice get at the end?
- Level 4 Healthcare Science Diploma in Clinical Engineering
- Training will be a blend of on the job training across Leeds Hopitals combined with training at Dudley College both in-person and on-line sessions
- Training will usually be one day a week
What is the expected career progression after this apprenticeship?
- progressing to a senior assistant technician post and the opportunity to undertake a level 6 qualification
